The weather was much better today than yesterday… it was still very overcast (so not great for photography), but stayed dry through my re-walk of the Forbidden City. I’ve been here before and you can read the details on the first Beijing blog at http://tonya2china.blogspot.com/, but I still marvel at the pageantry and the investment of people of ancient times into their various monarchies. The opulence and the focus on wealth and comfort for one person’s pleasure just seems out of place in today’s world. But I’m glad they did it 🙂 – because it makes for some interesting sightseeing in the 21st century.
