Anyone who knows me well is aware that the gap created by the loss of my parents almost seven years ago is still an ache I can’t heal. So it was with deep admiration when I read what a fellow Chief wrote about the love between her parents and what she learned by the values they demonstrated through their relationship.
I’ve not seen such a tender reflection of someone’s parents. And it was particularly impressive given that her mother passed away more than 30 years ago. Talila’s respect for what they persevered to accomplish is so strong that her memories never faded. I was inspired by someone who loves her parents so deeply and sees so clearly how their sacrifices as well as their small successes led to her being the exceptional person she is today.
It’s such a beautiful story, I had to share it here with my family and friends. So many of us think our lives are ordinary, but that’s rarely the case. Never underestimate what other people see and how they value you… case in point below: 30 years have passed and Talila still hasn’t forgotten.
