I arrived in Bangalore right on schedule — 4am, ugggh — and with all luggage accounted for. (I always find myself saying a little silent prayer as that luggage belt rolls around….. hoping/praying/begging for my luggage to be there!)
I arrived at the Ashok, but there was no ticker-tape parade. Many of my buddies have moved on. It’s kind of sad (selfishly), but there were many management changes starting the last time I was here and I had expected many of my buddies to move to greener pastures. As I pouted my way to my room, I entered and was instantly reminded why I love it here. Not sure yet who my little angel is, but someone knew I was coming and had made arrangements. There was a cheese tray and little chocolate torte with “welcome back” on it. God, I just love this place!
After getting unpacked and cleaned up, I sat down to some breakfast and enjoyed the view of my pool and the grounds. The masala dosa, uppatam, and gulab jamons were the kickstart I needed to get on with my day. I am so excited to see my guys — it has been far too long and I have missed them terribly. Today will be a whirlwind of activity (and I really do want to find an hour to sneak away to Commercial Street! shhhhhh….). I’m so excited — better get started!
