Note – I’ve decided to re-share a Facebook post I wrote today, as I believe it fits within the spirit of this group.    ️, TJL

I drove down The Alameda this afternoon and it was difficult to see the businesses – my neighborhood – boarded up. My beloved Orangetheory Fitness San Jose – Rose Garden was cocooned in protective sheets of plywood. I had just left another friend’s business at OsteoStrong San Jose Members, where I signed their protective boards with a message to remind anyone close enough to read them that their voices, indeed, mattered.

It would’ve been easy to shake my head with regret and continue driving home, but I think this moment in time is worth recording. And it’s worth acknowledging that no matter how you feel about what is happening in our world right now, everyone “feels” something… and all of us are undoubtedly feeling Pain. As tough as these last months (and particularly these last few days) have been, I would encourage all of us to hold these memories tight. It’s important that all of this has not happened in vain. When the dust settles, there’s healing and partnering and work to be done. And in the meantime, being good to each other is one of the most important pieces of work that should start… right now.

The words below from the incomparable Brené Brown seem especially fitting today…
