Prom 2020: Some Good News with John Krasinski Ep. 4

As if throwing a global virtual prom with bonafide rock stars wasn’t enough…  he also broadcast from space in this episode.  Yeah, like outer space.  Cool, huh?

The list below can be credited to the fine folks on the content team at M.M.LaFleur.  Apparently it’s not enough to just make women’s clothing anymore, you also need to publish cool content.  They’ve been sending out funky newsletter “to do” lists every week or so… so in the spirit of keeping things fresh with this group I thought I’d share.  If you’re interested in their content, you can subscribe here.  One of my favorites is the tuxedo’d guys in the “45-second break” section.

Plus, the dad joke the world never asked for but probably deserved.

If you want a 15-minute break: First, listen to “Misty Blue” by Dorothy Moore, and then listen to this live version, wherein she is clearly having a great time. Pour yourself a big glass of water, because you might be dehydrated, and that is easy to solve. If you’re hydrated, that’s great—you could make a Penicillin, because ginger and lemon are good for you, and brewing ginger syrup makes your kitchen smell fantastic.

If you want a 45-second break: Here’s a tuxedoed crowd with places to be.

If you want to explore: Try GeoGuessr, a game that drops you on a random swath of land somewhere in the world and has you try to pinpoint your new location. Or, you could follow this photo essay to Colombia’s Ciudad Perdida. Or, if you prefer to celebrate local exploration, here are some maps people have been drawing of their own neighborhoods.

If you want to chuckle and/or roll your eyes: This morning, we accidentally dumped half a jar of dried thyme into a pan instead of a teaspoon, and our sister shouted, “We’re in a pandemic! We don’t have that kind of thyme!” and that’s your dad joke of the day.

And a little anarchy: This personality test tells you which fictional character you may be similar to. The results are amusing and surprising, including but not limited to: Georgiana Darcy, Dwight Schrute, Sam Seaborne, and Luna Lovegood. Let us know what you get.

Here’s a live-stream of otters playing, which seems like a good thing to have access to. (California peeps – this is from our very own Monterey Bay Aquarium!)
